If you're not playing the shredding part cleanly though it's going to be harder for the game to pick out the notes and timing of the start of the notes making me think this could be a note detection issue rather than a latency issue. Latency shouldn't vary by the speed of the song unless somehow something is bogging down your computer while you play the amon song but then you'd probably hear an audio glitch or stutter. but as soon as i play amon amarth with the shredding parts (i was already good at this), the game says even its false or too slow. Originally posted by Rog:ok, its not that huge latency, i can play almost all slower songs. things that will make the game easier on your system to take out the extras that will help your system keep up. You can change to a slightly lower resolution, disable different effects. I forget what, but give me a sec and I will findĪnd then for my other ideas, there are settings in RS that you can change for "Better Performance". There is a setting on video cards that can be changed. Again, we are looking for what can be causing the problem, so you can re-add those later. So look at any extras that don't need to be running. Took me a while to fix, but I knew the mouse created the problem since I had it working great before that. I had an extra driver for my mouse that had a memory leak. Even things like chat programs, game updaters. RS is trying to do a lot with displaying the note track, monitoring what you are doing, processing the sound, displaying feedback. Your system seems to meet the specs, but other things in the backgound takes up resources. Once we have it working correctly, you can try connecting other things to see if that was causing an issue. You should make sure that only the keyboard, mouse, and Real Tone Cable are plugged in. So make sure all external HD's, Phones, DVD players. Having other things plugged into other USB ports does tend to affect how much power your system can provide to the cable. The cable itself does require to be powered by the USB port. You need to make sure it is completely removed if it was installed. that causes issues with latency, and still can be causing it. But if at one point you had the crack installed to bypass the requirement for the Real Tone cable. Now, I am going to state this and you can ignore it if it doesn't fit. Those two, are usually all that is required to get the game running. The RS cable: Like the configuration guide states, it should also be set to 16bit 48000 HZ. Delays in other games are very difficult to notice, but in RS when you are hearing the guitar outside the game and in, it makes it very obvious. And, as the configuration guide states, you want it set to 16bit 48000 Hz. Make sure that is turned off if it is there. Any processing of the sound delays the audio a little bit. Specifically if you have a driver for your headset that creates "Virtual Surround Sound". That allows other things to control your soundcard, and can cause delays.Īny post processing of sound. That in itself could have caused your issue. One option is you had Exclusive Mode turned off. So you could possibly use it with those different phone apps with amp simulators & fx since they're expecting something to be plugged into the headphone jack like the iRig cable.Ok, now just running through a few things. The "breakaway plug" uses a headphone jack & plug instead of the keyed shape that the Real Tone Cable uses. There's a couple of differences between it and the stock cable. It actually does work with Rocksmith, which I wasn't exactly holding my breath for. So I'll be returning this 2nd cable I bought since I don't need it. So all I had to do was set it to "Off" and it works great, now! If you go to 'Quick Settings' on the PS4, there's a setting for "Mute ALL Microphones", which I had set to 'On' at some point while playing GTA Online. At some point, I turned a setting on my PS4 to on and forgot about it. WOOHOOO! And it won't cost me a dime in the end. I used it with my laptop a couple of times when I tried messing with amp Sims and DAWs like Reaper.
